Companion Animals Trust Funding Application Microchip Award Notes and Conditions
Overview of award
Companion Animals Trust is dedicated to supporting projects beneficial to the community, those that provide care and protection to companion animals and projects focused on education within the field of companion animal welfare and urban animal management. The Microchip Award will provide microchips and Companion Animals NZ Register microchip registrations for community projects that aim to improve animal welfare. There are two grant rounds per annum. Applications for the Microchip Award must be received by the closing date advertised on the website.
Disclaimer
Companion Animals Trust reserves the right not to distribute microchips and Companion Animals NZ Register microchip registrations in a funding round where applications received are not sufficient in number, or do not meet the requirements of the award or goals outlined in the Companion Animals Trust Deed. Companion Animals Trust is a discretionary Trust and the decisions of the Trustees are final.
Use of Microchips
- Microchips and Companion Animals NZ Register microchip registrations provided by this award may not be utilised for any purpose other than specified on the application form and in the award Terms and Conditions without prior written permission from Companion Animals Trust. No additional microchips or Companion Animals NZ Register microchip registrations will be provided unless Companion Animals Trust decides so in its absolute discretion.
- Companion Animals Trust’s financial support must be acknowledged in all publications, presentations, press-releases and any other publicity surrounding the project.
- The Companion Animals Trust reserves the right to promote the project through press-releases and social media avenues.
Eligibility
At this time Companion Animals Trust will provide microchips and Companion Animals NZ Register microchip registration forms for community projects conducted within New Zealand for the benefit of companion animals in New Zealand.
You may only submit one Microchip Award application, per organisation, per annum. Your organisation must be a registered charity, incorporated society or both to apply to this grant.
Applicants (organisation or individual) currently being investigated by the SPCA are not eligible to apply.
Upon receipt of successful application, the receiving organisation, and any individual associated with it, will work collaboratively with Companion Animals Trust around any concern they may have about Companion Animals Trust as an organisation, the Trustees and Office holders, or the work they carry out. Should and issue arise where a recipient has concerns, they agree to raise the issue directly with Companion Animals Trust.
First time applicants will be eligible for a maximum of 100 microchips and Companion Animals NZ Register registrations only.
Application Submission
The completed application from and any supporting documents must submitted via our website.
Payment of Award
Upon receipt of successful application, recipients will be asked to return a signed declaration agreeing to the conditions outlined in this document. Microchips will be couriered directly to the address provided on the application form. Companion Animals NZ Register microchip registrations will be credited to your NZCAR account.
Reports
Recipients may be requested to provide a brief (less than 500 words) account of their project written in an easily accessible style suitable for inclusion in newsletters, websites and on social media platforms. If requested, this should explain the background of the project, the outcomes and the benefit to companion animal welfare. Where possible recipients should provide photographs illustrating the project and the animals involved. If requested, the brief summary must be received within three months after the agreed completion date of the project unless otherwise agreed.
