Companion animals trust funding application desexing project award


  • 1.0 General Information

    Companion Animals Trust is dedicated to supporting projects beneficial to the community, those that provide care and protection to companion animals and projects focused on education within the field of companion animal welfare and urban animal management. The Desexing Project Award will fund a community project up to $10,000 (not including the cost of microchips and free registrations on the Companion Animal Register NZ). If your application is successful, microchips and registrations for the number of animals expected to be desexed with be automatically supplied.
  • Please note: all animals being desexed as part of your award application must be microchipped and registered with the Companion Animal Register NZ. If you do NOT require microchips and/or free registrations please provide explain how you will ensure these animals are microchipped and registered, and provide supporting documents.

    All animals being desexed must receive appropriate pain relief.
  • There are two funding rounds per annum. Applications must be received by the closing date advertised on the home page. You may only submit one Desexing Project Award application, per organisation, per funding round.

    Please provide the number of microchips and CANZ microchip registration forms you require. Companion Animals Trust reserves the right to alter the amount provided from the amount sought. Please also indicate whether you require 8.5mm or 12mm microchips.
