Microchipping award

Companion Animals Trust is dedicated to supporting projects beneficial to the community, those that provide care and protection to companion animals and projects focused on education within the field of companion animal welfare and urban animal management. The Microchip Award will provide microchips and free registrations on the Companion Animals NZ register to community organisations seeking to improve the lives of animals.

There are two funding rounds per annum. Applications must be received by the closing date advertised on the home page. You may only submit one Microchip Award application, per organisation, per funding round. This award is for microchips and free registrations on the Companion Animal Register only.

If applying for a Desexing Award it is NOT necessary to apply separately via the Microchipping Award for microchips for the animals to be desexed. The Desexing Award form has provision for this.

Please complete this form for your proposed community microchipping project. If a section is deemed not to be relevant to your project put N/A.

Applications must be accompanied by your latest annual audited accounts (where applicable).

Identify previous funding you or your organisation have received from Companion Animals Trust. Include application number, amount received. Also describe if all the funding has been utilised, if not, why not?

How many are you requesting from the Companion Animals Trust for this project. The Companion Animals Trust reserves the right to alter the amount provided from the amount sought.

Provide a detailed timeline for the project and the anticipated completion date. A maximum of one year is permitted.

Does your project require animal ethical approval? For applications involving animal ethics describe whether animal ethics has been sought, the status of the application and which animal ethics committee had been applied to. If animal ethics has already been granted include the approved animal ethics application and approval notification as an appendix to this application. If animals are involved in your project but animal ethics is not required justify why.

– Companion Animals Trust only transfer approved funding once animal ethics has been awarded.
– Companion Animals Trust will not provide funding for animal ethics applications.
